The Instituto Hondureño del Café (IHCAFE) was founded in the early 2000s and changed the coffee industry in Honduras. Before IHCAFE, the quality of coffee harvests was not guaranteed, and there was no sustainable infrastructure for the growth of the coffee industry.

However, IHCAFE put structures and systems in place to ensure high-quality coffee harvests and ensure sustainable infrastructure for the growth and development of the coffee industry in Honduras.
