Black Aswad

Aswad means "Dark" or "Black" in Arabic. And the term “Black Knight” is to signify resilience and perseverance; refusing to give up even in the face of extreme adversity. In a similar fashion our coffee is here to save your day from the darkest of times; one cup at a time.

Our story began during the height of the pandemic, when our founder faced a personal crisis when his parents got infected. They lived overseas, and he couldn't be there to take care of them. All he could do was pray for them, and it was a heartbreaking experience. But his parents were strong and resilient, and they inspired him to spread positivity and bring joy to others.

That's when the idea of Black Aswad was born. He wanted to create a specialty coffee store that could deliver the best quality coffee to people's doorstep. He knew that coffee had the power to uplift people's spirits and create a healthy environment. His wife, who is also a coffee lover, became his partner in this endeavor. When her mother got infected, she became her by attending to her took care of her. She brewed a cup of warm, steaming coffee to energize and refreshen her. Just having a loved one by her side made a world of difference, and in a few days, her mother was relieved of the disease.

This experience reinforced the belief that health and joy could be yours, and it could come in a fresh cup of coffee. The couple was determined to create a store that could deliver not just any coffee, but specialty coffee, roasted to order using the finest beans sourced from around the world. They wanted to honor the "Black Knights" among us, the front liners, first responders, and care givers who have been working tirelessly during these challenging times. They wanted to salute their bravery and commitment to serving their communities and be with them in spirit. Let's all brew a cup of coffee and raise it to these heroes!
